How do I create a sacred/witchy space?

 

I realized that I have hit some major goals in the last few months. And it took me some time to understand that it is time for some new goals.

The big one is getting my basement I live in in order. 

A week ago, I wrote:

I am doing hardcore cleaning today. I get depressed that my lair is trashed and I know by cleaning it, it will cure me but I'm too depressed to clean it, so there is this cycle that goes one before I Hulk out and start mad cleaning.

And that is how I am making sacred/witchy space. I am getting my house in order. I got my witch’s cabinet in order last week and it is a beauty to see.

And it makes me want to do witchy stuff.

Who do I honor (ex: deities, ancestors, myself, etc.), and how do I, or would I like to, honor them?

 

I am hoping to start working on an ancestors altar soon. It has been on my ToDoList for forever.

I also want to get back/dig deeper into my devotion to Karpo, Greek goddess of fall.

Plus, I want to work on my outdoor space. I feel that’s for another group of “people” and I want a nicer spot to talk to them.

Would I want to be dedicated/initiated?

 

That would be mean going out and being with people and, gods, people? Really? You want me out there doing group work?

As of right now, I do not feel a need to seek out a group in real life. Online, maybe, but having to drive somewhere and get along with people and their rules, that ain’t me.

What would my perfect witchy day be like?

 

We are almost there.

I want fall. I want a gray day that’s slightly wet. I want a nip in the air where you it makes to think you need to find your hoodie soon.

I would also be off from work. The weather needs to be so that I can open my basement door and bring in the fresh air of the outside.

The day makes me want to work. I wan to work get up and put in the effort to do what needs to be done, be it cleaning or witchcraft.

Both.

There is a need to sit down and write out a full-blown spell/ritual, to make sure it is perfect before doing the magic.

And there is a need to just do magic on the fly.

No culture appropriation. I am a white and I am trying very hard to keep my practice non-commandeering of others’ cultures.

At this point, I don’t see a difference between magic and spirituality.

The more I look into one, the more I feel that flows with the other.

I’m non-binary. I don’t think there should be gender roles in witchcraft.

Do I like research and gathering info, or do I like things handed to me?

 

I want to do the research. Point me to the book or website and let me gather what I need.

And that’s the kicker. I can tell you I need X and you can give me X and that’s that. But if you tell me to take this road to X, I might find other things on the road that I didn’t know I need or find something I need for something else.

I’m a witch. I practice witchcraft.

The way I practice, it’s in everything I do.

Last week I made a post saying I was doing ancient magic of cooking hamburgers. The way I shape the ground beef, picking out the seasoning, it’s just a ritual I love to do.

October and Halloween, for sure.
